PROFILE
With beginnings in the music-recording world resulting in several platinum albums, I have since brought my quest for quality sound to cinema. I have re-recorded more then a thousand hours of cinematic productions ranging from mono to surround sound (including Dolby ATMOS), long and short format for film/television, promo/commercial, “reality show” productions, and was credited for my work on the Oscar nominated “Nibbles”.

Personally nominated for a Gemini, a Felix, and an IRIS I have the rare privilege of being a member of both the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) and the Cinema Audio Society (CAS).

Enriched by the wealth of my experience I conceived of and now propose a complementary service: levels.tv

In these times of complex requirements and new regulations, levels.tv thrives to maximise the impact of sound in a world dominated by images.

Like the final touch to a perfect shine, this “mastering” makes all the difference between a good sounding mix and a professional sounding mix all the while conforming to the standards of the various broadcasters.

Strictly speaking, contrary to a typical mix, this new stage of “mastering” is inserted at the very end directly to the final mix file.

levels.tv offers a labour of love, a passionate, one might say obsessive, tweaking of details, an intensive attention to every single kernel of sound. Most lack the correct listening environment (THX equipped in an ITU 7.1.4 Dolby ATMOS calibrated room), the specialized plugins, the expertise or even the interest but I assure you that once your sound has passed through the capable hands of levels.tv, your mix will stimulate interest you never imagined possible. FOR WHOM?
levels.tv addresses the needs of a wide range of sound crafters.

Composers understand the principle of “mastering” but can for example benefit from levels.tv’s ability to convert from stereo to surround sound (including Dolby ATMOS). Mixing habits used for a CD are inadequate for film or TV. There are a few traps to be avoided.

The post-production sound studio that does not want their "A" studio or their star engineer to render a derivative version to the final mix (Dolby ATMOS, 7.1, 5.1, LtRt, LoRo, film, TV, web, DVD, etc.)

The video editor who must do the mixing himself but finds he is falling short when faced with the new norms and hence would like it very much if somebody could do what we call “color correction for sound”.
